Constituent Spotlight: BBCBE – Building Equity in Construction

Dear Members,

🔦 Constituent Spotlight: BBCBE – Building Equity in Construction

At the JBCC, we know that a more inclusive construction industry is a stronger one.

That’s why we’re proud to celebrate our valued Constituent Organisation, the Black Business Council in the Built Environment (BBCBE) — a powerhouse representing over 5,000 black-owned companies, many led by women and youth across SA’s construction value chain. 🚧

From driving policy advocacy, to enabling SMME access to major infrastructure projects, to skills development and OHS support, the BBCBE is changing the face of the built environment — one empowered business at a time.

Their work resonates deeply with JBCC’s mission to raise the bar on professionalism, inclusivity, and contract standards in South Africa.

🛠️ We’re especially excited to reflect on the recent BBCBE–TEDA Business Breakfast, hosted in collaboration with the City of Tshwane Economic Development Agency (TEDA), which spotlighted catalytic projects to revitalise Tshwane and unlock new value chains in the sector.
